I received this in a box from an online estate sale auction. I have no idea how this thing works. If I turned the turntable and got it started the needle came over and went down on the record. I have no speaker to hook up to it. But after a little bit it slid across the record and raised up. I do not know anything about this. So this item is untested as far as I am concerned. Plastic is scratched
