I bought this unit as a demo from a high end store in San Diego in February 2001, and it has worked flawlessly since then. Its build quality and cosmetics are excellent.

The KRELL KAV-250p Preamplifier offers high-quality, analog signal processing. For inputs, it features a pair of XLR connectors, three pairs of RCA connectors, plus RCA connectors for tape monitor. Outputs include an XLR pair, a pair of RCA connectors, and a separate RCA connector for tape. The KAV-250p has excellent build quality and was manufactured in the United States between 1990-1999. I bought it as a demo from a high-end store in 2001. Until replacing it recently with a Michi P1, I happily used it for two-channel audio and home theater with a KRELL KAV-250a amp, Meridian G08 CD player, Aerial Acoustics 7B speakers and SW-12 subwoofer, and Transparent interconnects/cables. The Michi has a wide variety of inputs, but its sound is not clearly better than the KRELL. The KRELL box will include the power cord and instruction manual. The original remote control will be in the packing, too, although after some keys became non-responsive, I replaced it with an after-market unit, also in the box.

KRELL KAV-250p PREAMPLIFIER This item is in good working order & in great condition.It has ben serviced. Supplied in the original box, instruction book & remote. Postage costs include insurance cover. Collection in person is an option.

KAV-250a/3 in excellent working condition. This amp was just professionally serviced (cleaned and bench tested). It was tested with a Clio audio analyzer for linearity, phase response, THDand IMD. My technician said it specd’ out better than Krells specs on their website. THD at 10W into 8 ohm load was under .018% on all 3 channels. Linear response was less than .5db from 20hz-20khz. He also said it had never had repairs done to it. I’ve had this in my setup for 5 years and I’m downsizing to a 5.1 system so it’s no longer needed. You could use this as a two channel amp if wanted or bridge two of the outputs for 1000 W/8ohms and still have a spare channel 250W/8ohms. Amp is very heavy, so shipping will be expensive, but it will be packed very well and will arrive to you in the same condition as pictured. I will insure it for the purchase price. Please do not bid on this amp if you don’t plan on keeping it. Absolutely no returns. All sales final.

KRELL KAV-250p in near mint condition completely reconditioned by KRELL in CT in 2023 (cost almost $1,000 alone-see photos). This is the cleanest, smoothest 2 channel audiophile preamp I have found in 30 years under $4,000! Went to surround home theatre in my living room so this never got used more than 10 hours after being refurbished by KRELL. My loss is your gain! This can deliver goosebumps with the right source and speakers. Remote is in like new condition, too! I really want to say no returns but I will work with you as long as I dont have to incur more shipping costs and item is in same condition as I am shipping which is almost pristine/better than excellent. Will try and locate owners manual to include but it is available online as a pdf. Includes preamp, remote and power cord. Original box missing but it will be well packed for certain.
