Kaleidescape KSERVER-5000 With 6 Drives Total storage capacity in this unit is currently 3.5TB. Its running with a new (under warranty) 6TB parity drive, but should have a new hot-spare disk installed too. This unit is ideal for someone who wants to grow their library in the most inexpensive way possible: Over time, you could buy four or five new 6TB dives from Kaleidescape, and replace the drives one at a time. let them rebuild, and repeat this process until you have 24TB of storage, along with your parity and hot-spare disk. There are eight additional slots (with blanks), but if you took this unit to its limit, youd have a total of 72TB of space (plus the parity and hot-spare). That would equate to something like 1,200 blu-ray movies or 7,200 DVDs or some combination of the two! This unit is grandfathered, which means it can still import DVDs. No players are included, if you are looking at this you already know you need a player to have a complete system. This unit has been refurbished with a new BIOS battery; all dust was cleaned-out from the server and the drives and the fans are all operating properly, so it runs nice and cool. All the drive-slots were checked and confirmed as working as well, so this unit is ready to grow as your budget permits. Rack ears and screws are induced, but will be removed for shipping. All six drives will be removed and shipped separately. Both the drives and the Server will be double-boxed and I will cover ground shipping and insurance in the continental US to simplify shipping. Ive successfully shipped K-Servers, tube amplifiers and turntables all over the world, so no worries there.
