There are some scratches and marks to the housing and there is no remote control. Please note that the unit requires CD-Rs that are designed for music. The copy protection in the device will not allow CDs to be copied to data CD-Rs. They must be labeled as Music or Audio CD-Rs. It opens and closes for a few seconds, then opens again. The 3 CD trays open and close smoothly. A few scratches on the case. Please see the pictures as they are part of the description.
