This is direct drive model. This deck produced highest quality of sound in my new setup! I previously owned a lot of other TOTL decks, nothing compares to this! Cosmetics are just like I bought it. This deck is reviewed by Tapeheads as a discreet 2 single level decks in one. Three motors on each side/ Hi Rez Amorphous heads for bright and detailed sound/ 20-20khz on Metal/ Dolbly B,C and DBX/ Auto reverse on each side. Recordings are smashingly good! Considered the best Double Deck ever made by Teac. This monster has 6 (!) motors. Belts are good for couple of years!
