The pinch rollers and capstan belts have been replaced with fresh new parts. Speed, tape head azimuth, play and record levels, equalization and bias are correctly adjusted. Its surprisingly good sounding and I really like the auto-reverse. You can stay in the chair and listen to both sides of your tape, and even repeat it continuously if you want. Its not a Nakamichi Dragon, but its hard for me to tell the difference! This dual deck features Compu-Calibration which optimizes the record settings for each tape for excellent sounding recordings. This unit does Dolby B and C noise reduction as well as Dolby HX headroom extension which helps when recording, and has a +/- 6% pitch control that works on the playback side. The record/play tape well on the right is set at a constant speed. The wow and flutter measures at around 0.07% WRMS, which is very good particularly for a dual well cassette deck, and sweeps flat out to 15KHz using TDK-D type 1 tape.
