Description
JVC Vintage Radio Cassette Recorder with 4 Band Radio. A very clean example of this rare model. A very nice portable boombox from the 1970s for the office, home, or simply for decoration, with the benefit of being serviced. The tape mechanism works perfectly in all directions, and the radio is clear. The balance control sweeps properly from left to right, and the tone control affects the sound well. I have stripped the unit, replaced the cassette belts, cleaned the head, capstan, pinch roller, mechanism and controls. I have also cleaned the idler mechanism, rubbers, etc.The battery terminals are clean, and the unit has been tested on mains and batteries (not supplied). There are stereo external mic inputs, and external speaker outputs plus a DIN connector for integration with other units if required. I picked up lots of clear stations on the FM radio. It also has MW, LW and SW, with a fine tuner dor the SW radio. Theres not much broadcast there now, but pleanty of FM and FM Stereo stations still. The aerial is original, intact with end cap, and not bent. I have polished and oiled it, so it retracts as well as it looks. A solid, heavy unit, and plenty loud for its size! The handle is strong and intact, with genuine chrome end caps. It is a vintage item (nearly 45 years old!), so there are of course marks, discolouration etc - but it is overall in very nice condition for its vintage to be fair, with original knobs, etc - please see the photos for condition, as they were taken on the day of the listing. Packaging will be thorough, tracked and insured. Thanks for looking. Check out my other items!
