Try finding a current model turntable this good 40 years later and you will be hard pressed! Sony, Denon and Hitachi models are always near the top in vintage turntables, but none have proven to be as reliable as the JVCs. I am the sole original owner and bought this turntable 43 years ago. It has been tucked away in it’s original shipping box and stored in our climate-controlled home since the late ‘80’s. I literally just plugged it in, loaded an album and it fired right up (see video). Quartz-Lock’s perfectly at 33 & 45 RPM. Unlike belt-driven turntables from that era (ever see a 43 year old rubber band…not much left of it) no maintenance was required to get it up and running. They dont make them like this anymore.
