Now we are introducing the first second generation double transport cassette deck the KD-W5. Its easier to use than ever, and opens up whole new worlds of taping versatility to you. Now you can dub at normal or double speed; automatically play back two tapes, one right after the other up to 15 times; and even make sound-on-sound recordings. Most operations are push button simple. The KD-W5 - the most versatile and convenient deck youll ever know. Each of the two tape transports of the KD-W5 employs a full logic control mechanism for soft touch operation. The left hand deck, Deck A, is for playback only, and features JVCs Music Scan so you can automatically replay the same song or jump ahead to the next selection. The right hand deck, Deck B, provides both recording and playback, and is equipped with a Metaperm head for metal tape recording. Making copies (dubs) of your favourite tapes is easy. If tape types are identical, just move the record level controls to MAX. Next, push the Synchro Start button to simultaneously set Deck A into the playback mode, and Deck B into the record mode. By using Music Scan on Deck A and Auto Rec mute on Deck B, you can edit as you go. Even tape selection on Deck A is automatic. For quicker dubs, select double speed. When you push the Continuous Play button, Deck A immediately starts playing. When the tape reaches the end, Deck B automatically starts playing. This cycle is repeated up to 15 times. Since both decks feature auto rewind at tape end, your music is never interrupted. Sound-on-sound recording is a natural for the KD-W5. First place a tape in Deck A that you wish to add sound to. Next, place a blank cassette into Deck B. Now insert a microphone into the front-panel jack. When you start dubbing from Deck A to Deck B, you can sing or add commentary by means of the microphone, and it is recorded onto the cassette in Deck B. A useful mike volume control makes it easy to create fade-ins and fade-outs. If you prefer, you can mix tape sound with a line input such as from a tuner or amplifier.
