The clean, logically designed KD-V44 is our ergonomic cassette deck easy to use, and easy to listen to. In terms of performance, it has two-motor full-logic control, quick auto-reverse operation, an SA record/play head, Dolby C/B noise reduction, and much, much more. The KD-V44 has a quick auto reverse mechanism so you can play and record both sides of a tape without flipping the tape over. A special JVC designed swivel head called the Flip Reverse System ensures that response is uniform in either direction of tape travel, while the jewel-lock system provides azimuth correct performance for years. It takes only 0.7 seconds for reverse action. We've taken special care to ensure that operation is silent so as not to detract from your listening pleasure. An electronically controlled motor drives the capstan, while a separate DC motor drives the feed and supply reels, This ensures excellent speed constancy. A third DC motor is used exclusively to control the tape transport mechanism, which is under complete computer full logic supervision. The SA record/play head developed by JVC has proved to be nearly perfect in terms of sound quality, wear characteristics, and low noise and distortion. One particular strong point is high frequency response, now so important with the advent of wide dynamic range metal tape. Dolby C noise reduction has rendered tape hiss utterly inaudible; even during the softest passages the only hiss you'll hear is that of the original master tape. Noise (hiss) is reduced by up to 20dB between 1kHz and 10kHz, and, at the same time, dynamic is headroom is improved. Dolby B (ANRS) noise reduction is also incorporated for playback compatibility.
