I viewed a PDF manual at the Manualslib website but could not figure out how to connect to my newer smart TV. I think I was to change channels on both units, but could not figure it out, because the one button on the remote (INPUT) did not seem to do anything (Other buttons worked fine). But according to the manual online, you can change inputs etc in the units settings. We, meaning, I, became frustrated, unsuccessful, and felt older than my senior years indicate, and gave up trying. So..... I CAN ONLY GUARANTEE that it runs smooth and plays VHS and DVD tapes, and Records to DVD disk with unit one-button dubbing button. But I believe it is probably easy to view TV channels for someone a lot smarter than me....(: I think this would be a great unit for someone who only wants to copy all of their VHS tapes to DVD.
