This auction features a beautiful and rare JVC M 3030 twin monaural class A/B stereo amplifier from 1977 in great working condition. Ive been a vintage audio enthusiast for over 30 years. I have owned, sold, traded and auditioned many of yesterdays vintage hifi holygrails. From the small Dynacos, Eicos and Harman Kardons to the big Mcintosh Sansui, Marantz and Pioneer behemoths, I have owned and sold my share. Through the years many of those hi fidelity classics have earned a reputation that remains unrivaled today (even by some of todays more modern-esoteric offerings) and this rare amplifier from JVC is no exception. The M-3030 is more than just visual candy. It was rumored to be JVCs direct answer to Pioneer S20 series amplifiers. Its a super low distortion twin monaural stereo amplifier featuring open top styling with a trio of output and power tranformers reminiscent of the tube Mcintosh and Citation amplifiers of the 1960s. It delivers 100W per channel or 130W per channel at 4 ohms. Design topology and features include: Direct Coupling cascode and double differential common phase feedback input with parallel push-pull OCL Output. Power Supply Circuit : Class A / Class B (for left and right channels) and Independent Power Supply transformer to eliminate cross feedback interference and ensure super low distortion specs. This amplifier is well regarded in the audiophile circles. The M3030s performance compares favorably to audiophile amplifiers that command twice the starting bid price and its a classic that is visually more compelling, interesting and appealing than the Marantz and Pioneer models everyone lusts after. This amp has been in one of my systems paired to a Mac C29 preamp for over 15 years. Condition is very good showing minimal visible wear and in great working condition. Why buy or import a 100V unit from Japan that requires a step down transformer to operate it when you can get this one locally, made for the U.S. (120V) market insured and properly packed and shipped fast to ensure a safe and smooth transaction.
