John Shearne Phase 2 - Mk 1 with Phono option The Mk1 is important for this amp - it has a reputation, as the original design, of being the best sounding of the John Shearne Phase 2 incarnations. Its beautiful sounding integrated, that works amazingly well with top-notch digital - all the detail with musicality, nothing sterile or clinical to my ears. An almost valve like sound with good full range (nothing rounded off here), good dynamics and speed. The amp is 50W a side and is designed for normal to higher impedance speakers - its not a powerhouse that can handle low impedance, difficult to drive beasts! Fantastic for smaller Harbeths etc The optional phono stage is fitted on this one, with the AUX now the phono input with an earth binding post above.
