These fully amplified speakers retailed for $2995 back then and would easily cost $10K+ today. I have paired these with a preamp/DAC in my office for almost a decade and the sound quality is on par with some of the ATC gear Ive demoed and worked with over the years. Unfortunately, the tweeter in one of the speakers has stopped working. I believe it is the amplifier for the treble/midrange as I swapped tweeters between the units and they both sing crystal clear. Ive moved my B&W 802 Diamonds in from my office so its time to part with these gems. The walnut finish has seen better days, the fabric has small tears in the screens and they need a tune up at a repair shop to make them shine and sing again. John Bowers Active One Speakers. The active amplifier is not part of this sale as they have been sold already. All drivers are working in these speakers. It will be a good project for someone to run a DSP into these and make use of them. The original Stands are available but they are rusted and will need a new wooden base also.
