These carefully engineered cones deliver the right combination of stiffness, damping, and off-axis response. The speaker also provides good mid-bass, thanks to its mechanical clearance, optimized suspension and balanced motor design.Tweeters: Each coaxial speaker features a ¾ silk dome, ferrofluid-cooled tweeter with a damping neodymium magnet. The edge-driven silk dome tweeter is smooth, detailed (on or off axis), and provides great overall performance. Silk is lightweight and great for high frequency extension and efficiency. It is also designed for durability in the extreme automotive environment.Grilles: Front-loading protective grilles are included, with black steel mesh and satin silver accents. Electroformed logo nameplates can be positioned on the grilles or elsewhere in the vehicle, according to the needs of the installation.Mounting: The speakers can be mounted in most standard 4 speaker applications. They also include 4x6 adapter plates for mounting in 4x6 speaker applications.Removable Mounting Tabs: Most 4 factory speakers use four mounting screws. However, in some vehicles, only two mounting holes are used. In these cases, you can bend any unnecessary mounting tabs on the C2-400x speakers until they break off. The tabs are scored specifically for this purpose. Care should be taken in handling the speaker because the broken edges may be sharp.Power Handling: JL Audio publishes several power specifications for this speaker, 35 watts continuous power handling (RMS), 105 watts peak music power, and 10-50 watts recommended amplifier power (RMS).
