Description
Up for sale is a TransRotor TR 800-B which is a rebadged / upgraded version of Jelco SA-250. There were a good number of companies that bought Jelco and rebadged just like Rega does. - Includes upgraded Ammonite Audio collar which cost me $80 plus shipping (https://ammonite-audio.co.uk/ammonite-audio/) - Includes standard weight (you can still buy upgraded versions online) - Includes Jelco HS-12 headshell with silver leads (not sure of the brand, but they are nicely made) Good condition. Bearings still feel great! I have never adjusted it and dont know how, so I left it alone.. but I am sure there are guides out there for tweaking. Was used on a Technics SL-1200 MK2 with a Hana EL for three years and sounded great, but getting the table exactly level is necessary. Its a touch dusty in the photos, but I have a tiny brush I can try to get in the small crevices and clean out. The scratches on the mount were from the paint scraping off using the old collar. The new upgraded collar is much better and doesnt do that. The only minor gripe I have with Jelco tonearms is that their anti-skate mechanisms can be too sensitive and need to be dialed back a bit/tweaked to get correct. For this arm, I always set it at 0.75 or 1 max for any weight and it worked great. There is a good article detailing the issue as well as how to fix it here: https://audiosensibility.com/blog/faqs/jelco-tonearm-anti-skate/
