This is a subwoofer that would do great justice in any home theater or music system. It may not be in the same league as the upper models of JL Audio sub (where their 12 sub can cost as much if not more than this JBL) but it is also a for more affordable alternative. The JBL packs a huge 15 woofer and a 1,000W Class D digital-switching amp that powers it. Frequency response is 25 Hz to 400 Hz. Physically, you need to find some space in your listening room to accommodate its 19.5 width, 19 (21 with grille on) depth and 23 height because it is big and it throws out a lot of bass energy into the room. The sub weighs a hefty 125lbs but in our opinion, should weight a bit more to counteract the vast bass energy it produces. Cosmetically, the sub looks good. Some scuff marks here and there (especially on the latex based top plate) and a small veneer peel spot on the left corner edge of the amp plate in the rear. LOCAL PICKUP ONLY!
