This listing is for my JBL SYNTHESIS SDP-55 surround sound processor. I am the first and only owner and purchased it late 2021. It has been updated with the latest firmware 1V60_1586 that was released in June of 2023. This unit functions flawlessly and sounds amazing! It is also flawless cosmetically. I would give it a 10 out of 10 as I am unaware of any scratches, marks, or signs of wear. These processors are very highly regarded and currently sell for $6,600. This unit came out of my limited use home theater in a NON SMOKING home with no children. My loss is someone else’s gain. This unit is exactly the same as the JBL SDP-58 aside from the HDMI input and outputs. However if you want, the HDMI board can be upgraded to an 8k/60p from the 4K/60p it is equipped with, for an additional fee.

JBL SDP-55 used but amazing condition in original box with all original accessories (Remote, USB cable, Mic, wifi and bluetooth antennas, set of batteries, manual, power cord. Unit is ready for 8k if you ever want to upgrade the HDMI board, I only have 4k so never needed to. Moving and have to downsize my home, dedicated theater will not be making the cut. Haha.

This JBL is (mostly!) working and sounds great. On the analog inputs, Tape, Tuner, Aux, V-Disc and VCR are all working. For some reason, I’m not getting any output on DVD, CD, or TV inputs. It’s quite possible I don’t have something configured correctly on this complicated beast, but just putting the input into those selections did not work. Lots of customization, with many sound mode options (Jazz, Classical, Rock, etc). Plain old two channel sounds best to me. Digital inputs and surrounds not tested; just analog through front left and right. The other issue to note is the volume control is touchy. Little physical inputs sometimes leads to large volume changes, and also the opposite is true. Probably needs a De-Oxit bath. Could be a true gem for someone, but with these issues, this is an as-is parts or repair, no return auction. Any questions at all, please do ask before bidding.
