This is a complete JBL Performance Series home theater system consisting of four (4) PT800 bookshelf-style (can be mounted and used as on-wall speakers), one (1) PC600 center channel speaker, and two (2) PS1400 powered subwoofers. The PT1400 subwoofers include adapters that allow for a PT800 speaker to be mounted on top of the PT1400s cabinet to create a full-range floorstanding speaker. This system was in long-term storage that unfortunately became damp over time. The speakers themselves did not get wet directly, but the original boxes that they were stored in deteriorated somewhat from the moisture. Some of the screws show signs of corrosion. None of the speaker cabinets show any damage, and the woodgrain finish as well as the particle board underneath appear to be unaffected. There is no swelling, peeling, or warpage that can be seen. The PT1400 subwoofers play loud and sound great. The midrange drivers in all four of the PT800 speakers and the PC600 speakers are blown. They play sound, but it is very scratchy and distorted. The mid-bass drivers and tweeters in the speakers appear to be okay and sound fine (although the tweeters are a little bright for my taste). On two of the PT800 speakers, one or two of the screws holding the base plate wont come out because (I think) the t-nut on the inside of the cabinet has become slightly loose and spins when you try to take out the screw. I am selling this system AS IS for parts/not working even though the subwoofers do work. Since the boxes are damaged, I cant use them to ship the system and am listing the system for local pickup only. The system includes the speakers, grilles, and mounting adapters attaching a PT800 to each PS1400 subwoofer. It also includes three wall-mount brackets for the PT800 speakers and one Owners Guide. No other accessories, paperwork, packaging, or cables included. The subwoofers AC power cords are not removeable.

These sound as good as they look, and would be an excellent choice as mains for a home theater or a 2-channel system. Both internal subwoofer amplifiers had failed in these, so they have been converted to passive operation. Also included in the price is a Crown XLS 2000 stereo amplifier to be used for driving the subwoofers. The sub crossover frequency can be adjusted on the amp so you’ll be sending just the lower frequencies to the subs. ++ If you don’t need the Crown amp, and have your own or would prefer to use your AVR… you can deduct $200 from the listing price.
