Description
Here is one (1) brand-new and never used, new-old-stock/new-in-box RCA JAN-CHS 811 Triode Transmitting Tube. Note that it is an 811, and not an 811A.This JAN-designated tube was manufactured in the U.S., probably sometime in the 1944, for the U.S. Military. The production code marked on the tube base is 617.I acquired this tube around 25 years ago, and I never found a use for it. As such, it is now time to pass it on to an enthusiast who can enjoy and make good use of it.The tube base is tight to the glass envelope of the tube, with no cracks or other imperfections. There are no loose materials, rattles, etc., in this tube. The tube pins are clean with no oxidation, etc. There is no brown staining anywhere within the glass envelope, indicating that this is a new and never-used tube.I have tested this 811 tube in my calibrated military TV-7/U tube tester. The minimum acceptable measurement for an 811 when tested in the TV-7/U is 30, and this tube tested at 58, so you can see that this tube tests way above the minimum acceptable reading. I have also tested it for gas and shorts, and it tests as a brand-new tube. The tube box in poor condition due to age, as you can see in the photos. As with all electronic equipment of this vintage, this item is sold as-is and with no warranty. A word about shipping costs: I always endeavor to ship items offered for sale here on eBay by the most economical means, consistent with good packing practices, while considering the size, weight, and value of the item. Good packing practice means I will not pack a delicate item in an undersized box and with insufficient packing/filler material so the item may ship the most inexpensive way, such as via USPS Flat Rate Small Box Priority Mail. We both want your item to arrive safely, and with minimal chance of damage in shipment. I have no control over the shipping cost to you via the USPS or any other carrier. I never make a profit on the shipping cost, and there is never a charge for any packing materials, which usually includes brand-new bubble-wrap. If you are of the opinion the shipping cost quoted by the eBay shipping calculator may be too high, please contact me before you place your order, so we can discuss a possible alternate means of shipment that may be less costly.Positive feedback is left automatically, once the buyer leaves positive feedback for this transaction.
