the 6 kappa was such a great sounding speaker. i held on to these crossovers in case i ever got around to the project i wanted to do. it looks like time is not on my side, so it is time to let them go. good shape, just a little dusty.

Hello,I am selling my Rare Pair of infinity Quantum Reference Standard QRSComes with Crossover and Super Rare Sweet 16 woofers.The manuals are included.These are in perfect working condition. They sound great.These are in As Pictured physical condition.I would like to point out these things.The 4 extra wood panels they are not included. I never had them.The crossovers for the midrange and the tweeters are mounted on back of panels so they can be used apart from the woofers. They are set up for bi-amping.The grills and woofer cabinets on the top along the fronts, have been touched up, as pictured.The grills are included . They have all the connecter tabs for the woofer grills. The grills for the panels 1 grill has all 4 connecters and the other is missing 2 connecters on grill. It holds on but not the best. I never use the grills, so not a problem for me. The woofers on the left in pictures have had 2 woofers replaced, they are slightly different color. As pictured there is 1 little metal tab missing on 1 midrange. Dont affect, it works perfect. All drivers work perfect as they should.The midrange drivers have been rewired with Straightwire Music Ribbon speaker wire. Arnie Nudell, then president of Infinity, decided that the original configuration of the QRS with a 15” Watkins driver was too slow to blend well with the ribbon/planar midrange drivers and tweeters. So, he built just a few with 16 ea. 5-1/4” drivers in the sub cabinets. The entire system, called the Infinity Quantum Reference consists of 40 EMIT tweeters, 6 EMIRM midrange, and 32 5-1/4” dynamic drivers. Short of an IRS V these are the best speakers bar none that Nudell ever made for Infinity. The soundstage is amazing, the tonal quality is to die for and leaves any and I mean practically any state of the art speaker as a toy. The Strathearns have a superb midrange and those EMITS are longer than the later ones with no short cuts done in their engineering. They are as smooth as any tweeter ever made. Old audio collectors must know that the late Harry Pearson of the Absolute Sound considered this among the most natural speakers ever produced.Musical instruments sound as real as you could possibly hear whether you play vinyl or digital media.
