About the item INFINITY Infinitesimal-IV $88,000 (set of 2, circa 1990) Description Compact speaker system developed as the first product of the Infinitesimal Series. Speaker System The naming is derived from the Infinitesimal I, II, and III compact speakers introduced in 1979. The low-frequency range is provided by a 10.8cm cone-type woofer. The IMG (Injection Molded Graphite) cone made of graphite-reinforced polypropylene, which has an established reputation as Infinitys proprietary technology, a voice coil with a diameter of 2.5 cm, and a magnetic circuit with anti-vibration measures are used to reproduce bass sound beyond its size. The high frequency range is equipped with a newly developed EMIT-R tweeter. This unit inherits Infinitys proprietary EMIT tweeter technology and uses a powerful magnetic field to drive a 3cm-diameter flat diaphragm for superior transient, low distortion, and wide bandwidth reproduction. The EMIT-Rs planar diaphragm consists of a circular voice coil photo-etched onto the surface of an extremely thin KAPTON film. This diaphragm is then directly driven by a magnetic circuit formed by powerful ferrite magnets (70?x10) and a magnetically shielded magnet. Infinity Infinitesimal - Bookshelf Speakers Please read the full description. They are sold as is, with no returns accepted. These are a phenomenal pair of speakers. They have the classic emit tweeters. Cosmetically, they are in great shape. Nice hefty wooden cabinets, with metal grills. Sonically, one of the speakers has a pretty bad buzz in the tweeter, and it has some voice coil rub on the woofer. The other one has a crackle either in the tweeter or the woofer. So, they need a little TLC. Selling them as is. Thanks!

Here is a nice working pair of the legendary Infinity Infinitesimal 0.2 Speakers from the late 70s/early 80s. I aquired them about 8 years ago and have used them in my office off and on since then. Never had any issues with them. Features the EMIT tweeters and the dual-voice Watkins woofers. Nice condition, Id give it a conservative 7.5/10 cosmetically for some mild scuffs and wear, mostly on the bottoms where youll never see it anyway.
