Here we have a lovely vintage Hitachi Radio Cassette Recorder in great working condition. It has just had a major service. All 3 belts and the idler tyre were replaced. Additionally, the head, capstan, pinch roller and pulleys have been cleaned. Excellent sound from the 2-way speaker system (seperate woofer and tweeter). The unit has also been deep cleaned and polished inside and out. The switches and knobs have been internally cleaned and lubricated to make them perform as well as possible. All cassette functions perform correctly. The radio is clear and responsive, and the aerial is original, fully intact and not bent. All 4 radio radio bands work, with stations subject to your local coverage of course. She is nearly 50 years old, so please remember that you are not buying a new unit, despite the lovely overall condition - there will be wear and tear after nearly 50 years! However, it is a great sounding (and loud for it’s size) unit, having just been serviced - so it’s ready to go - either as a decoration, or a cool retro radio cassette for the kitchen, etc. A lovely, portable, vintage but functional item! The unit has been tested with mains power at the time of listing, and a video taken for peace of mind. Please note: The auction is for the unit only, as I do not wish to risk transport damage from the plug - when a brand new figure of 8 mains lead is literally only a few pounds.
