The HMA-7500 is a dual Mono power amplifier, using Power MosFets, operating predominately in a Class-A, A/B design, and I believe this is largely responsible for its incredible sonic performance. Yes it is A Class A/B amplifier but operates more like a Class-A, A/B amp. Listening to uncompressed digital music (FLAC music on a Xmos-AK4490 24bit/32Bit DAC), the sound is astounding, nothing more than spectacular... This amplifier still sets a high benchmark for audio today, with its surprisingly open, transparent and powerful sound, midrange and upper high signals are sweet, endless, transparent, the bass is firm with authority.Fast. This amp is fast 20v/uSec slew rate...These 2SK134 and 2SJ49 Power MosFets were the fastest audio transistors in the world, and even today the specifications have not been surpassed.Power Freq Response, DC-100KHz, at 75W/Chan @0.05% THD. Fr+0dB/-0.5dB. Incredible! This unit hits way above its power spec, even on a pair of Yamaha NS-1000 Studio Monitors, they come alive with this amp.Hitachi Specs: HMA-750 Output Power Stereo75 watts RMS per channel from DC - 100KHz.75 watts RMS @0.05% THD, per channel 20Hz-20KHz.100 watts RMS @0.05% THD one channel driven, 20Hz-20KHz20Hz ~ 20,000 Hz at 0.005% THD, @ 1KHz 4-Ohm or 8-Ohms90 WPC at 0.5% IEC.105 W/Chan 8? dynamic powerAudio InputStereo RCA w/Selectable: Direct DC coupled to the amp, or AC coupled to the amp, via 0.68uF capacitor.Input Z: 47 k?SMPTE Intermodulation Distortion0.005% at 45 W.Frequency Response into 8?0.5 ~ 100,000 Hz +0, -1 dB.Cross-talk75 dB at 20 Hz.85 dB at 1 kHz.65 dB at 20 kHz.Signal to Noise Ratio118 dB A-weighted, referred to 75 watts. This means -82.2 dBW or 219 µV or -73.2 dBV noise output.Damping Factor60 into 8?, 20~20,000 Hz.
