Power MOS FETs are used as amplifying elements in the power stage.Compared to conventional small-signal MOS FETs, these power MOS FETs have a higher amplification factor (mutual inductance) and better linearity, and also have better high-frequency characteristics by more than one digit compared to bipolar transistors. It also has a high switching speed due to its operating principle. Compared to power transistors, it is more resistant to electrical breakdown and allows simplification of amplifier protection circuits. Since the input characteristics are enhancement characteristics, the bias circuit is simpler than that of FETs with depletion characteristics. When used in a complementary circuit for audio amplifiers, it can be used in push-pull amplifiers with less distortion than amplifiers using power transistors. The circuit configuration has the following features.
