I am the original owner of this Hegel H360 Integrated Amplifier (250 watts per channel, 8ohms). I purchased it new from an authorized Hegel dealer. It has occupied only two audio rack shelves since new, and was moved carefully in my vehicle, NOT SHIPPED, from one location to the other. All functions work perfectly and all aspects of performance are outstanding. This integrated amp has always been in a smoke-free, pet-free, child-free environment, and has always been in a two-channel audio system enjoyed by an adult. There is an outstanding and detailed review in the March 11, 2016 issue of Absolute Sound. The reviewer heaped accolade after accolade on sound quality, build quality and the built-in DAC, which he compared favorably to Hegel’s standalone $1,200 DAC. The built-in DAC plays all common digital formats. The remote is metal, and has a wonderful quality feel. If you are not familiar with this model, but are considering it, I would encourage you to read the Absolute Sound review. This model is compatible with popular streaming platforms like Tidal and with Apple Air Play. The unit is cosmetically perfect with the exception of two very small scratches on the right top edge near the back of the case. There is an enlarged picture of these scratches in this ad. The coin is a quarter. I suspect a black permanent marker would make these extremely difficult to notice. I have the original carton with all factory internal packing materials. Its neutral tonal balance, articulate and lovely rendering of details, commanding power reserves, spacious soundstaging, and natural imaging are laudable. At $6,500, as solely a linestage integrated amp of its quality and power output, it is a bargain; the included nice-sounding and versatile DAC makes it a real winner. I absolutely loved listening to the H360. I never tired of its low noise, dynamic liveliness, and winning musicality. A very easy recommendation. SoundStage Hi-Fi:I noted in my introduction that integrated amplifiers are often likened to the Swiss Army Knife, but after spending time with the Hegel H360, I think a Leatherman knife is more apt. Leatherman knives, their design based on a pair of pliers instead of a jackknife, drastically improve on the concept of the Swiss Army Knife with sturdier, more functional tools. With the H360, Hegel hasn’t exactly changed the concept of the integrated amplifier, but they’ve expanded it by including a high-end onboard DAC, networking capability, and sound quality that is among the best I’ve heard from an integrated package. It’s packed with features, extremely well built, and has a nice, unassuming design. Most important, its superclean sound and transparency will appeal to those many music lovers who crave detail and resolution. If you’ve got the money, you can’t go wrong with the Hegel Music Systems H360.
