Vintage Heathkit AA-40 (AA-121) Tube Stereo Amplifier Powers on, but still selling for parts/repair. Was powered up with a variac to check for power. Powered on with no smoke, etc. However, one right channel EL34 tube sparked/flashed internally, so amp was then powered off. No other testing was done. This is an extremely rare opportunity to obtain a mint/near-new condition example of this very collectable, practical and particularly attractive amplifier.Comes complete with the Assembly & Operation Manual (pdf) and 2 No. mains accessories plugs (for linked items such as record deck, tape recorder, etc.). These plugs fit the two AC sockets which are provided to the rear, so as to furnish both switched and unswitched power for the linked equipment. Line voltage is present at the unswitched socket whenever the amps power cable is connected to an AC source, whilst line voltage is present at the switched socket only when the amps power switch is in the on position.
