Up for auction is a Heathkit model AA-18 solid-state amplifier, rated at 3.5 watts. This is a compact unit measuring 7-11/16 W x 5-9/16 D x 2-5/8 inches high. See one of the photos to review the specs for this amplifier. This amplifier works, but will need servicing since there is a hum in the audio. The hum is heard with the volume set to a minimal setting. This usually indicates the filter capacitors in the power supply needs replacement. I am including a partial copy of the manual, less the assembly instructions. To test this amp, I connected my Heathkit CR-1 crystal radio to the input (see the last photo). It did a good job of amplifying the weak signal. Again, there is a hum in the audio along with the radio station. Note: only the amplifier is included in this auction, not the crystal radio, speaker and connecting wires. Selling my Heath AA-2500 amplifier. I am selling it for parts or repair. I bought this at a local auction along with a pre amp. Hooked them both up and had barely any sound. Not sure if the problem is in the amp or pre amp, but I’m done messing with it and selling it as is. The unit does power up. I pulled the cover off and checked all the fuses. This is the rear metal in put/output casing for Heathkit AA-14 solid state amplifier. Comes with all associated mounting screws but not the screws to attach at the bottom of the unit. As can be seen, connecting wires have been cut at various places to allow the panel to be removed. Part of the left speaker output red plastic is broken off. Thanks for looking
