Ok, i have a custom Headphone amp from Xiang Sheng, this is a well-known Chinese amplifier company. So i found out about this 708b tube amp on Head Fi .org and on, AudioKarma.com, both great audio sites. This amp goes back to about 2006 when it was created by Xiang, and it has had 3 revisions, this is the latest revision. The threads on those audio sites say its a great headphone amp for the money $300, and it goes on to say that with tube rolling and some mods it becomes an amazing amp. Im a DIY guy, i have a lot of experience in doing recaps on audio stuff. So i read the entire thread and decided to go all out and upgrade the capacitors, and the tubes. I changed all caps out and put nothing but the high-end parts. I put Clarity caps, those are the big red caps you see through the top, i also added Auro caps, and changed out the other caps for Chemcon and Nichicon. I also rolled many tubes and ended up going with 2 Volskof Russian Red Rockets, and a GE Jen 5670 tube, the sound is breathtaking I also added an Alps volume control which they are the best and it improved the sound more.. This amp has two inputs and one output, it also has a GREAT PRE AMP and sounds amazing as a preamp and headphone amp. I will give you a 6-month warranty on this amp. I also include Drop HD 6xx headphones with the amp, both amp and headphones under 50 hours of use, the 6xx headphone pair with this amp like peanut butter and jelly. I cant express the sound, tight bass, smooth tube mids, and sparkle on the highs. The one thing missing is the volume knob, you will have to find your own since i changed out the volume pot for an ALPS the volume knob that came with the amp. fit anymore. You can find a million knobs for it on Amazon or Aliexpress. I have over $200 in audio caps and tubes i have changed, i promise you will love this amp. Check my feedback and buy with confidence.
