Parasound HCA-1206 THX 6 channel amplifier. Very little use over the years. I’ve been hanging onto it in hopes of building a dedicated listening room but now it’s taking up space. Plugged up today and tested. All channels work. Everything functions properly. I let it play for about an hour and she’s still sounding great! I lost the original power cord but used a computer cord to test it. Would recommend getting a heavy duty cord for it. Comes with instructions manual. This amp is HEAVY. It weighs approximately 75lbs. The handles are on it for a reason ????

We cleaned the 6 potentiometers on the back, as well as the switches and then treated them with Deoxit F5, and D5 respectively. We checked the inside of the amp and saw no signs of swollen or leaking caps, and any signs of heat stress. It is very clean, as can be seen in the pictures in the listing. On our bench, we hooked the amp up to a Sencore PA81 Stereo Power Amplifier Analyzer acting as a dummy load and Oscilloscope interface. Using an audio generator, we ran a 1k signal through the amps inputs, slowly increasing the amplitude while monitoring the output on our oscilloscope for signs of noise, clipping, distortion, or improper channel balance. All six channels tested clean on the scope. The amp is rated at 135 watts per channel, and produced a clean signal at 135 watts per channel. We then hooked the amp up to one of our house systems, and ran each channel for 8 hours. We were very please with the sound of the amp. Physically the unit is in very good condition, with only minor blemishes. There are no dents or deep scratches. Usually heavy amps like this take a bit of a beating over the years, but this unit was initially installed in a custom setup, and never touched until we purchased and removed it. Two pairs of channels can be bridged producing a whopping 350 Watts per Channel for the bridged channels!! This amp was from the original owner. When I obtained it one of the channels was not working. I took it to my tech (LDL Audio/Video Services, see blue tag on back of unit) who repaired the channel and when through it, giving it a clean bill of health. Cosmetically the unit is in very good overall condition. There are a few minor scuffs on the top front edge and typical minor marks elsewhere. PARTS ONLY! For sale is a Parasound HCA 1206 power amplifier. Most of what you see in the pictures is dust however you can clearly see some rust on the top. If you are considering buying it to restore I will post pictures with it dusted off jut let me know. It does not work properly. The protection lights come on when the amplifier is turned on.
