In fact, the dynamic behaviour approaches the ideal, in that the transient power nearly doubles into 4 ohms and nearly quadruples into 2 ohms. That means the HK690i gives you louder, clearer, cleaner sound than any other 60 watt receiver. It also has an ultra wide band frequency response of 0.2Hz to 150kHz, as well as low negative feedback for extremely fast transient accuracy, with the virtual elimination of TIM distortion. The phono section has dual RIAA equalization circuitry, which provides consistently low levels of negative feedback throughout the audio band, resulting in improved transient response. And, to eliminate digital switching noise or the possibility of bleed through, the tuner section shuts off when phono or aux buttons are pressed. The digitally synthesized quartz-locked HK690i incorporates a major breakthrough in FM stereo technology. A unique sample and hold MPX decoder is used to decrease high frequency switching noise while it eliminates the need for much of the filtering normally required in FM processing. The result is the cleanest, most unfiltered FM sound available. The HK690i also gives you all the features normally found on the most expensive components available. Like provisions for two tape decks, with two way tape copy capability. Auto and manual tuning, and 8 AM and 8 FM memory presets.
