i have a video of it working if you want me to send it to you testing done with pioneer cassette deck and bose speakers i did not open it but if you want to see the inside i can do that and i do have compressed air and can blow it out. the power switch does not light up i assume it is supposed too

For your consideration is a Harman Kardon A-401 Integrated Amplifier. Ive just finished cleaning and refurbishing this amplifier. I also performed one of two service bulletins (one had previously been completed) to eliminate a brief hum and/or transient noise upon powering up the amplifier. All electrolytic capacitors and all transistors on the tone control/pre- amp board and the volume/mode board were replaced. On the amp board I replaced all the electrolytic capacitors, both 2SC458 transistors, and the right channel differential transistors. I left the phono equalization board alone as it has very low noise and sounds great. The main power supply capacitors tested good and are original as well. The switches and pots were cleaned and lubricated with Deox-It. DC offset was checked after refurbish and is 0 +/- 3mv on both channels. Idle bias was set to 20mv, both channels. After cleaning and service was complete I tested all inputs, outputs, and functions. I then used it in my den for several days and it functions and sounds excellent. The Harman Kardon A-401 Integrated Amplifier delivers crisp, powerful stereo sound with good depth and sound stage. I have one of these amplifiers in my collection and it gets used frequently as both my wife and I really enjoy it. Cosmetically this Harman Kardon A-401 is in good condition. There are minor scuffs, scratches, and dings from normal use and handling. Lettering is in good condition except for the word Volume which shows some wear.
