Please inspect all pictures for condition, the amplifier powers on, one channel works and the other channel you can hear sound but it’s very low and distorted, the top cover is missing the bolts, also missing one bolt for a component I circled it in red please see pictures, I’m not the original owner so I don’t know the history of this amplifier, if you have any questions or need more pictures just let me know thanks Will be shipped fed-ex

This amp was beautifully assembled and maintained by its owner, the former chief engineer of Capitol Records as his personal amp. Of all the Hafer amps I have refurbished, the XL280 is my favorite as it is an updated design of the DH220, and a true audiophile tour de force, even today! This amp has been lightly refurbished as it did not require more! Caution! This Hafler XL-280 Amplifier has the power to drive almost any speaker to destruction! I measured 225 Watts per channel at 4 Ohms, 0.4% THD, (I dont have a big enough load to test at full power). Spec is 280W / 4 Ohms amd 360W into 2 Ohms to drive very low impedance speakers. I have confidence that this amp will last for years if not mistreated, and guarantee it for 30 days. Hafler Amplifiers were designed as super amps, with great sound for picky audiophiles, along with wide bandwidth, very low harmonic and IM distortion and high damping factor. This amp more than holds it own against far more expensive current generation amps-see the many online reviews. Speaker outputs are fused with 8 Amp Fast Blow fuses. You may wish to lower the value to protect your speakers--see enclosed manual for details, a free, $15 value, addition. I have done other upgrades as needed:Poor quality, factory RCA input connectors replaced with High End, heavy duty, Gold plated typesStock Speaker connectors replaced with High End, heavy duty, Gold plated banana / spade typesMain power supply capacitors were checked for correct values and low ESR;Isolation feet addedOriginal, 2-wire AC cable replaced with Audiophile quality, Rhodium plated, 3-pole, OFC, shielded, 12 Ga. cable & plug, Note: some photos show amp without new audiophile power cable. I charge my actual cost + $10 for professional packaging for eBay shipping and insurance. I have no control over eBay sales tax.
