Hafler DH 110 preamplifier in really nice condition, both appearance, and function. All controls work properly, and have been cleaned using DeoxIT D5 contact cleaner. As can be seen from the photos, there are inputs for 2 turntables. These separate inputs go through RIAA phono sections, allowing you to connect your turntable directly. It also has 2 tape inputs which can be used for tape recorders, or any other line level source.There is also an “EPL”, which is an external processor loop, which allows you to connect an equalizer, or other device in the sound path. There is a tone defeat button which disconnects the tone controls, and sets the unit for flat response. The tone button can be switched on, and the tone controls are fully functional. This is a very versatile preamplifier, and sounds great. The “AUX”,and “TUNER” inputs can be used for their labeled purpose, or with any other line level source. If you are reading this listing, you are probably aware of David Hafler’s reputation of designing, and building well engineered, great sounding audio equipment, first with Dynaco, then Hafler. Hafler equipment was always available in kit form, or factory assembled. This unit was factory built. This preamp had belonged to my brother. He used it for around 5 years, then he wanted to try a Carver preamp with their “Sonic Holography”. This DH 110 was then packed away in the original box, and stored in my climate controlled shop since then. It will come in the original shipping box, with the instruction manual supplied by Hafler. For sale is a used Hafler DH-110 stereo preamplifier. It has been dis assembled and cleaned. The case has been repainted. The original volume control had a few dropouts so I replaced it with a premium Alps volume control. This control does not have any detents just smooth operation and great channel tracking. All the electrolytic capacitors has been changed to premium Nichicon and Panasonic units. all the RCA jacks on the back have been cleaned and treated with Caig solution.The preamp has been fully tested and really sounds great! Hafler DH-110 Stereo Preamplifier - Vintage Partially re-capped with high end capacitors, switches and potentiometers cleaned. A few commonly problematic components replaced. Tested.Most polarized electrolytic capacitors were out of spec and were replaced with Nichicon Audio grade quality replacements. The non-Nichicon bipolar capacitors were found to be out of spec as well and were replaced with high end Nichicon Muse capacitors. All of the nice Nichicon bipolar caps measured fine and were kept. The main filter caps were replaced. J112 FETs and LM393 comparator were replaced to eliminate any future issues that commonly occur. This preamp sounds great and will be great for any vintage equipment lover especially anyone into vinyl, as the phono preamps are great. Take a close look, at the pictures. The front isnt too bad at all, but the sides and top are definitely a bit scratched up. Will be well packed and insured. hafler dh-110, used great working order, some paint/cosmetic issues.I have owned it since 2005 and always kept it inside a climate controlled home with no contact with weather, but it does seem to have some very light rust or other patina/paint damage. I used it for 3 years and then got a tube preamp and have only kept it around as a backup since. It only has three rubber feet. I thought about replacing all three with four new ones, but figured in case they are original and desired by the next owner I would let them make this call. Hafler preamp, flea market find. Note there are scuffs and other cosmetic issues, and some of the lettering has chipped away so its hard to read in a few places. 4 cover screws on the bottom edges are not original. Do not connect this to an amp without repairing it as it could damage your equipment. I got it to work for a while, but the treble control was glitchy even after cleaning. Seemed to work OK with the tone disabled. Then it quit working through the RCA line outputs and tripped the protection on my amp. It still worked through headphones, Phono 1/2, Tape 1/2, CD, and Tuner inputs all worked. Sold as is for parts or repair.Free shipping to the US lower 48.
