The Hadcocks shaft has an external thread with a diameter of 15.87 millimeters. A mounting hole of 16 millimeters provides a sufficiently small amount of play. The arm base should be a maximum of 25 millimeters thick; if the material is even thicker, the mounting nut will no longer grip the full length. A size 24 open-end wrench is recommended for tightening the nut. The mounting shaft consists of a threaded sleeve into which the actual arm shaft is inserted and locked using an Allen screw (hexagon socket). The height of the arm can also be adjusted using the hexagon socket screw. When mounting the arm base, a distance of exactly 226 millimeters must be maintained between the platter axis and the arm pivot point. Before the next steps, it is recommended that the drive is aligned exactly horizontally.
