It is a DAC (Digital-to-Analogue Converter) combined with amplifier and bass booster. This device is originally intended for use with Apple computers, I-phone, and I-pad, but it also works with Android devices that support USB OTG and some Linux OS. It is also known to work with windows 10 after installing a driver software (downloadable from the manufacturer support site). I currently use it with my iphone.There is a substantial sound improvement (in comparison with built-in DAC for iphone 6) and substantial boost of volume and bass.
