I tested the unit with 4D batteries, (I do not have the power adapter), and found it is in great working order - the power/sleep buttons, time and alarm can be set, screen light, display screen, all knobs/switches functional - they all work!! There is some static with the controls, but the proper DeoxIT, used correctly, will help with this issue. Look over the pictures and decide for yourself - Thank you.
