Grace G-707 tonearm for parts or repair. I was rewiring this tonearm and 4 small bearings fell out. I did not want to do any further damage to it so I buttoned it back up and am listing it here. The good news is that I have the bearings which will be included and the new wires are in place. This just needs someone with a little more skill to get it back up and running. I am also including an rca cable that will need to be soldered back on. I am selling this unit for parts or repair and will not accept any refunds. Typical musical British sound you can listen to for a long time without fatigue. The Jico SAS stylus N97xE (todays retail value $282) makes a huge difference in sound quality. With the Linn LP12, youll own a legend of the best turntable in the world! With this particular LP12, youll hear the legend as it was enjoyed back when the legend was established in the 1970s. It has the red button power switch, the venerated Grace G-707 tonearm properly fitted and adjusted in to the arm board, a new Nirvana, new springs, sub-chassis, new bearing that is compatible with synthetic oil, bearing well, new bottom panel and feet, old screws replaced, re-screwed and epoxied and so everything is just like it was new! See the copy of work done by probably the best Linn technician in the US, Rick Duplisea, at Audio Alternative. It also comes with a Grace cartridge but the stylus needs to be replaced. The unit is without a dustcover for optimal sound quality. The photos depict the turntable still wrapped in plastic, the outer platter in a box and the inner platter with the counterweight in another box. All in all the turrntable will come in three boxes. I will let the new owner experience unwrapping the turntable as received from Audio Alternative. I played two records that I knew well and liked with both the SL-1200GR and the Linn LP12 for a few hours. I found after a while I no longer enjoyed listening to the SL-1200GR and played the two records and many more the rest of the day with the LP12. Why? The LP12 played music that sounded and felt like music. The SL-1200GR is impressive in terms of overall manufacturing fitness and quality, rotational accuracy, convenience, adjustment, durability, portability. But for me, if you want to hear, feel and enjoy the music , the LP 12 is better. This seems self-serving since I am selling a LP12 turntable. Be that as it may, I just wanted to find out for myself and share my enlightenment. If you disagree, thats your prerogative. But do your due diligence. Dont rely on fake reviews, unreliable reviewers, commercial publications. BTW, the LP12 I used for comparison is not the one for sale. It is a later version that has the Valhalla, Ittok LV II tonearm, new armboard and LP12 rebuild. Both turntables that were compared used the Ortofon Super OM20 cartridge, which I consider timeless. I am not a professional reviewer, not a follower, abhor fake news...just someone who loves listening to live music.

Very good condition. Tested. Working. It sounds great. New rega brand belt. The dust cover has some scratches and very faint paint splatters. The cantilever looks like it is slightly bent to me. High output Moving coil Cartridge. It sounded pretty balanced when I played it. 33 rpm records sound perfect, but If you try to play 45 rpm records, they sound too fast. Very low noise floor on the turn table.

Linn Sondek LP12 Upgraded Turntable StackAudio Subchassis, Grace 707 Tonearm and Grace Cartridge. The table was upgraded with a used Cirkus bearing, new cross brace, new grommets and springs, a vintage Valhalla power supply and more. At this point, the turntable plays out of one channel only and it has not been fully determined if it is a problem with a cartridge tag or if the cartridge itself (which I highly suspect) is shot. That part of the work was not completed as the owner died. We are now recovering the costs of our work and the balance will be given to the surviving spouse. So, please no absurd offers. Offered is a Beautiful Thorens TD 160 Super. It features a Grace 707 tone arm original dust cover and a powder coated table. This piece has been well care for throughout its life. Two very minor cosmetic imperfections to mention. A small scratch near the zero just below the speed selector and a small mark on the left wood plinth that could possibly buff out.
