These are semi-legendary for their excellent performance, and they were a go-to item for many high-end turntables. This one is TESTED, and WORKING, but has a few issues, to wit: 1) the cueing lever has to be held up, otherwise it lowers slowly to the record. 2) the plastic bracket that holds the cueing piston is cracked (very common, and replacement brackets are available here on eBay, 40 bucks for 2), and 3) scratches on the arm wand and age appropriate wear. It came to me with a Grado ZF-3 cartridge, and it’ll come to you that way. It’s a good sounding combo: the last photos show it playing Liszt on my (not included) ERA tester turntable. No cartridge; and two wires on the headshell are missing (can be fixed easily). Overall physical condition is good too. There is general wear here and there, particularly on the dustcover. One of the corners on plinth has some imperfection. The tonearms finger handle is included. Sale includes the turntable shown in pictures only; no box, manual, or any other accessories. Offered is a Beautiful Thorens TD 160 Super. It features a Grace 707 tone arm original dust cover and a powder coated table. This piece has been well care for throughout its life. Two very minor cosmetic imperfections to mention. A small scratch near the zero just below the speed selector and a small mark on the left wood plinth that could possibly buff out. I had been using this fantastic arm for some years on a custom-built turntable when I decided to upgrade the internal cabling from the old original stuff. In the process I managed to lose one of the bearings that is fitted into the side of the arm tube and no-way to get this repaired in New Zealand. Other than the arm-tube bearing cup everythng is there and working perfectly mechanically. Please see images. Up for auction is an early version of Linn LP12 with the Grace 707 Arm – factory configured before Linn has its own arms. It has been well preserved – the arm and the cover do not have cracks and no major scratches. The turntable turns at accurate speed and the arm is in perfect working order. As I have many spare cartridges, I have throw-in a Grado with stylus, as shown in the last picture, at no charge. (It should work but a new stylus might be required if the new owner likes the Grado.)It is expected that the new owner will install his own preferred cartridge.
