MARANTZ VINTAGE STEREO TUNER RECEIVER ST 100 GOLDEN FACE.

This lot consists of 11 Maxell XL-II 90 and 6 UDS-II 90 Type II high-quality Gold Epitaxial cassette tapes in the 90-minute length and they are from Japan. They have been spot checked and tested as good but quality cannot be 100% guaranteed due to age of items. Tabs are intact and ready for you to record over and to be used in your audio recording projects. This lot includes 17. They have been well-preserved and are in very good condition with their golden vintage style intact. These tapes will provide excellent sound quality for all your audio recording needs. They are suitable for use with any cassette player and are perfect for music or voice recordings. These Maxell cassettes are a great addition to your collection or for everyday use.

Here is a CD player that even after 35 years can still compete with modern day players. This is the DENON DCD-3500G which was last made in the early 1990s as a cost-no-object model. Weighing in at over 47 lb. ! this unit is literally built like a battle tank. Super heavy chasis which is copper plated, huge dual power supplies for analog and digital sections of the circuitry, 20-bit conversion which was the state-of-the-art when designed. I have had the top-of-the-line CD players from Krell, Musical Fidelity, Sony and Yamaha over the past many years and this Denon is in the same league. Has the ultra rare original remote that has volume control making the need for a pre-amp stage unnecessary, you can run the RCA variable output jacks directly into your power amp. It also has RCA line out jacks (not variable) and even balanced outputs (not variable). It is in overall excellent condition. Please see the many close up pictures posted. Complete with an original user manual for the DCD-3560 model which is identical internally and functionally but has a black faceplate and does not have the super heavy wooden enclosure on top and the super heavy brass feet. Also comes with the original catalog of the Denon line IN ENGLISH (which is very hard to find and cost me $50 alone) which features the DCD-3520 (also same as the DCD-3500G and goes into great depth and detail regarding the internal circuitry and build. This is a 100V Japan market unit so I will include a 120V to 100V step down transformer for free (which is pictured). No original box or packing so I would rather not ship this. It can be picked up near zip code 07078 in NJ. I can drive to possibly meet you if within 50 miles for each of us. If need be I will ship but this will be costly. Estimate $80 for ground shipment to East of the Mississippi River and $120 for west of it. The best price out there for a unit in this excellent condition and with remote is about $800 now. I paid over $1,000 for this including tax and shipping from Japan and that was many years ago. Sell for $599 or best offer. No returns so ask questions. FOR FULL DISCLOSURE: Interestingly I did not know this for the years I owned this player. I thought it had an issue because when a CD is loaded for the first time it reads and stores the CD content into memory allowing you to then quickly play the same CD within a few days. The price you pay for this is that it takes the unit up to a few minutes to read the entire disc and then store it into memory. Thus, when you load your CD you will need to wait a while before it will actually play. If this is not for you then do not purchase this unit. But the music it makes is just incredible. As a test if you view the last few pictures I had loaded a CD that wasnt played for years. I then timed it, it took 20 seconds for the CD to enter memory and then begin playing. I then ejected it and loaded it and played it again. This second time it took about 10 seconds. Again, if this is not for you please do not purchase. Here is a super high-end legendary CD player from the golden age of Sony (1990-2000) when cost was no object in designing and building audio products. This player dates from about 2000, the very tail end of this era. The build quality, components chosen and fit and finish on these models was never matched again. This is the very last of the line in high-end CD player reproduction in the CDP-XA5es model. This has the ground breaking CD drawer where the entire CD drive extends from the unit when loading a CD. Then a heavy puck (included and rare in and of itself) is loaded onto the CD to stabilize it. Only one other Sony model the CDP-XA7es was higher in this line but the XA7 retailed for about $3000 over 30 years ago and was out of reach for most buyers. This XA5 was a compromise in that it lacked the copper plated interior and used transformers which were not sealed. However, still weighing in at nearly 25 pounds, this XA5 is still a unit that sounds great and will last a lifetime. In near perfect condition with the only two imperfections being shown in the last two posted pictures: 1.) the front panel level-out (volume) knob has been sheared off (it still rotates by hand or by the remote and works perfectly, it is only a cosmetic issue. It can be filled in with glue and painted black and it would be nearly like new again),....and 2.) there is a dent in the top right rear corner of the unit. Comes with the puck and the ORIGINAL remote with volume control. Thus this can be directly hooked up to a power amp, no pre-amp stage is required. Also includes the ORIGINAL Japanese manual and a reproduction manual in English that covers the XA7, XA5 and XA3. Note this is a 100V Japanese model but is easily used by purchasing a 120V to 100V 50W converter on Amazon for about $20. 90% of these are in the silver/champaigne finish.....the black is very hard to find. Dont confuse this XA5 or the XA7 with some later Sony units like the XA3, XA33, etc, that appear to have the same extending CD drive mechanism but are only entry level regular extending drawer models and weigh 12-15 pounds at best.
