This is an important part of the Main Turntable bearing, comes from a Garrard Lab 80: LOWER MAIN BEARING WASHER with rubber Insulation ringThis part is used in most Garrard turntables from 1950- 1960, Lab 80 & Mk II Type A A70 RC 88 98 121 210 This is the washer that sits below the penolic ring and the 5 bearing balls. It is the part that transmits the weight of the turntable to the chassis. It is the lower race of the main thrust bearing. The rubber rings prevents turntable rumble to be transmitted to the main chassis and the tonearm. Pls note that the upper race and the lower race are not identical, the upper race has a wider inner diameter The actual washer and rubber ring is shown in pictures 2 and 3. Garrard model RC88/4 record changer Turntable HIFI Mono Cartridge Needle HIFI Here is a semi working turntable from the late 1950s. It was stored in a cabinet unused for many years. The unit is without a cartridge. You usually find these with GE VRII cartridges for 33 and 78rpm records. The platter mat is soft and pliable. The cartridge holder is good 3 wire with pins good. Many good parts to be had here, including a plinth. The idler wheel is a good one, I lubed some areas and tested it for speed. I ran the start stop, and speed cycle, and the motor ran speed correct. The auto cycles dont work as designed right now as they need lubricated. Many of these have bad motor mounts and idler wheels, buying those alone will cost you 50-70 dollars! This has good motor mounts and a decent idler rubber wheel. I plan to part this unit out, if it doesnt sell soon. It will need lubed and inspected fully, I just cleaned the basic idler wheel and surfaces. It comes with the walnut plinth, a headshell, and center spindle. Its a collectors item, and was a decent player in its day. You can run it stereo or mono and it has 2 RCA plugs to play stereo. Its tested, and ran quiet for several hours. It runs on 115 volts, with RCA cables for standard hookup. For those who dont know 1970s - 1980s stereo equipment, you need an amp with a phono input to run this. It doesnt just plug into any stereo from the 90s-present without a phono input. The motor runs quiet and steady. It will need restored, cleaned and lubricated It comes as pictured, without a cartridge / needle. Condition I did not detect any motor speed issues, and it functions on 45s and 33s. Its not a run ready turntable, just a parts machine right now. Selling this for parts and will split out what you need on request. This is the standard version used on most turntables from the 1950s, e.g. TYPE A RC88 RC120 RC98 basically anything after RC80 and before LAB 80This is a main part of the platter bearing. Pls note that for proper function you will also need the upper bearing race washer, which fits at the bottom of the shaft. Without this, the turntable will not run on the bearing balls.
