Bought some time ago from somebody who reconditioned old turntables with the plan to use it but never did. I have no real knowledge of vintage turntables but turned it on recently and it comes on and appears to work. I was told that the idler was in great working condition (actually he said it was mint) and that is what apparently can cause problems with these. There is no cartridge fitted though. Apparently a great solid turntable, ideal for somebody with knowledge of vintage turntables.

Garrard AP76 Turntable superb condition. Several decades ago, before I had my own hi-fi system, I coveted a friends Garrard AP76 turntable. When I finally came to buy my own I could only afford Garrards entry level SP25 which served me well. Since then I have owned quite a number of decks of different makes, but when I saw a brand new old stock AP76 for sale on eBay, the pang of nostalgia was so strong I bought it. It had no plinth with it so I made my own from mdf and veneered it with American walnut, bought a brand new Rega cover and brand new Rega feet and sourced a Garrard badge for the finishing touch. It has since had light but very enjoyable use for a couple of years but now I want to move it on as I have, at present, six turntables which is probably more than I really need! Hopefully from the photos you can see that it is in fantastic cosmetic condition, indistinguishable from new to my eyes. It comes with a Linn Basik (I think) cartridge which has plenty of life left in it. It also has a mains cable, phono cable, 45rpm adapter, instruction manual, template and stroboscope disc. Automatic Garrard decks of this vintage have very complex levers and cogs which operate the auto functions. Drying out of the lubrication of this mechanism over the years can affect the auto functions and on this one the auto start isnt functioning. There is plenty of advice on how correct this on the various online vintage hi-fi forums (my favourite is vinyl engine) but I havent bothered with this as I am only interested in the auto shut down at the end of playing which works perfectly, so if I get called away in the middle of playing a record, I dont end up with it going round and round for hours with the stylus still in the groove. I also believe that I can lower the stylus into the record at the start a lot more carefully using the manual levers than any auto mechanism. I am asking a modest price I feel - the dust cover and feet were £67 on their own. I wont consider posting it so I am asking for the buyer to collect, but happy to enter into a conversation about me delivering it if not too far or possibly meeting half way to hand over.
