The Fountek NeoCD3.0 is a true ribbon tweeter featuring an 8 x 60mm diaphragm, a high power neodymium magnet and a 110mm circular alloy faceplate. The ribbon material is an ultra light (10mg) multilayer aluminum sandwich with a cross section of 0.015mm (approx 0.6 thou). This medium sized ribbon tweeter has a high sensitivity of 93 dB and a broad operating range of between 1.4 kHz to 40 Khz. The end tensioning clamps form a substantial heatsink for the low impedance ribbon and an impedance matching transformer is built into the back of the housing. TheseMusthave the proper order crossover (LR3), and most importantly, the proper crossover frequency (3,500hz 3rd order minimum). If you do not understand what the previous statement means, THESE ARE NOT FOR YOU! These type True Ribbon Tweeters need capacitors for diaphragm protection. Ribbon tweeters appear as a dead short to the amplifier without the crossover. Always use a capacitor in series while testing or with an active crossover. The Ribbon itself weighs only 10 Milligrams. So, the diaphragm is very fragile, simply blowing on it can damage it. These are some of the speakers bought from a speaker-building company that went out of business years ago. The drivers are new and unused, but the boxes look like hell from being moved around a dusty/dirty warehouse over the years. The drivers are new and look pristine! Truly excellent condition. Basically new. As seen in pics the tweeters have their own custom enclosures. Beautifully made. Real wood veneer. Purchased and built for the extra Sparkle in a single driver folded horn speaker project that just never happened......just too busy with work and family. Tweeters were originally 278.00 each. I had the enclosures built for 150.00. I have quite a bit invested here. Id like to recover as much as possible but want to be realistic. I am asking 350.00 for the set with the enclosures. They come from a smoke free/pet free home. Will be packaged with great care.
