The surrounds were just replaced with open cell polyether foam in June 2023, and the bextrene cones are very clean. As most early ESS builds, these woofers have 2 voice coils wound on anodized aluminum formers. Resistance measurements are 3.4 and 3.3 ohms, respectively. They should be considered an essential replacement if your woofers are indeed compromised. Utilized in several models of amt1(x), these are drop-in ready for models such as amt1a, 1b, 1c, amt1am, amt monitor, and all bookshelf variants of those models. These are factory original bextrene 12 drivers by ESS of Sacramento, removed from amt1b loudspeakers, and the aluminum rings retrofitted with brand new discs.
