This model is an upgraded version (D-70VU) of the Esoteric D-70 by Esoteric at a later date. The transports that I personally think were good to pair with were the Esoteric P-70, P-50s, and Wadia models equipped with VRDS. The sound is heavy and realistic. The bottom is made of extra-thick steel plate, and the four sides except the back are made of thick aluminum plates of about 5 to 10 mm, so it is hard to the touch and sturdy. The word sync is compatible with the Esoteric P-70VU, but only compatible with the Esoteric P-70 at 44.1 kHz and 88.2 kHz. There is no problem if you operate it with PLL as usual. For operation at 176.4 kHz, it is necessary to use a DUAL AES connection. The spike receiver is a semi-fixed type. The spike receiver will wobble if raised, but once installed, the spikes are installed at a single point, making it easy to install.
