This model is an Esoteric D-70 upgraded at a later date by Esoteric (D-70VU).The bottom is an extremely thick steel plate, and the four sides except the back are made of thick aluminum sheets of about 5 to 10 mm, which are stiff and sturdy to the touch. The word sync is compatible with the Esoteric P-70VU, but only at 44.1 kHz and 88.2 kHz with the Esoteric P-70. If you operate it with PLL as usual, there is no problem. DUAL AES connection must be used for 176.4kHz operation. The spike holder is semi-fixed. The spike holder wobbles when floated, but when installed, it is an easy to install type with a single point of spike installation.The exterior has been cleaned and the XLR and RCA output switch has been replaced with new parts of the same model number.The inside is basically unmodified with only minimal repairs for operation.
