This unit plays CDs and is also a CD copier so you can store your CDs on to the hard drive for playback. It has a 160gb hard drive. It takes a minute to boot up when initially plugging it in. (Note that the well famous American company McIntosh makes a music server (ms 300) costing several thousand pounds which is essentially an Escient Fireball system underneath, so these are decent made products). Unfortunately the way it is designed you can only control it through a TV menu system - so you have to link it to your tv, and use the remote control (provided), but you can link the audio output part to a separate amplifier rather than playing it just through the tv speakers. Also at one time it had internet connection capability which would have enabled the internet radio function and the gracenote function that would recognise the CDs and add the names when copying them over to the hard drive but the escient internet support is no longer available. So there is no internet radio and you have to add the album and song names yourself via the remote control. You have to go through quite a few different menu options on the tv screen to get to the music library for playback, and it still wants to go through the internet set up every time so you have to go through it to get past it. The condition of the unit is very good. It comes with power cable and remote control and the (left and right) rca type connection cables. It also has the original box and instructions. There is no internet cable as you can’t use it anyway - I am using it for a different device. There are a handful of albums left on the hard drive. This item can only be collected from Pudsey area of Leeds. I will not post. No returns on this as mentioned this is working but no longer has the internet functionality etc, as described above.
