Up for sale is a pair (TWO only) of VERY RARE EPI M602 Speaker Woofer Drivers. This sale is for a pair, two, of the unique 8 4ohm drivers removed from my M602 speakers. If you need a spare M602 driver, these are for you. I have NEVER seen these come up on Ebay before. And, no doubt less knowledgeable individuals may have put the higher impedance drivers in their M602 speakers, which will not sound right, as they are not in synch with the crossover network that Winslow Burhoe originally designed. Im selling because I purchased NEW proper impedance drivers from Human Speakers instead of fixing these. DO NOT MISTAKE THESE FOR THE COMMON 8 8ohm DRIVERS PARTED OUT OF ALL OTHER EPI MODELS. The M602 model is unique among all of EPIs original line of speakers. Read about the unique impedance of the M602 on Human Speakers website, here: https://www.humanspeakers.com/e/epi602.htm. Instead of the common 8 8ohm drivers, this model had a pair of 8 4ohm drivers specially wound voice coil resistance for its rear-facing drivers. Only the voice coil impedance varies between this and other standard original EPI drivers (e.g., the basket, the spider, the magnets, the paper cone, the surround, are all the same, just the voice coil windings are unique for the unique design of the M602 model speaker, its unique crossover, etc. If you are restoring a pair of M602 speakers, and need a replacement driver, these two original drivers are a good option for you, and less expensive than buying a new (and hard to find 4ohm) matching driver Please see photos of resistance on these EPI speaker drivers showing continuity across the voice coils, and demonstrating their condition. The voice coils exhibit no rubbing when flexing the cone in and out manually. They have a rubber surround that is lifting. I cant tell if they have ever been replaced or not. I could re-foam them, and sell for a higher price, but am opting to sell as is, and give you the choice of repairing the rubber surrounds or replacing them with new rubber or foam surrounds - kits readily available on Ebay, or from other reputable sources. NOTE: When measuring impedance on speakers with a multimeter, the value shown on the meter is usually 1/2 to 3/4s the rated impedance. For example, measuring resistance in ohms across the terminals of an 8ohm speaker/driver usually measures between 4 and 6 ohms. In other words, the resistance in ohms across a speaker-driver terminals does NOT match the rated impedance in ohms. These EPI 4ohm woofers measure correctly at just over 2ohms.
