Offered for your consideration is a vintage EPI 1 inch inverted dome “air spring” tweeter, USA-manufactured c.1973. This tweeter was removed from my Model 100 (M100) speakers but was also used in the M110, 150, 201, 202, 400, 601, 1000 and others; practically all of EPI’s c.1970-1976 offerings. It’s the original Winslow Burhoe design that EPI/Epicure made in-house using 5” diameter fiberboard for the faceplates. So, please take a look at my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if this capable EPI tweeter is correct for your needs. *Although the listing is written in singular to avoid any confusion, two (2) identical EPI inverted dome tweeters are available at time of this writing. Please choose if you’d like to buy one or both in the quantity field at the top of the listing. The shipping cost will be automatically calculated by eBay checkout. This EPI tweeter is in clean, very good condition. The concave dome with phenolic perimeter is in great shape with no flaws noted. Plus, the faceplate is in nice shape, but does have some typical edge chipping at the mount holes from factory over-tightening. Also, the large square ceramic magnet has no chips or oxidation. And, the +/- terminals measure the industry-standard .205”, have never been soldered on the spades, and I added a tiny red decal next to positive on both. Overall, this tweeter is quite nicely preserved. Most importantly, this EPI tweeter has been fully tested and sounds perfect—strong and clear with fast, detailed upper midrange and sparkly high frequency output. It was crossed-over from the woofer at a relatively low 1800Hz in practically all of the early EPI models and will support 50+ watts of continuous input power. Lastly, the DC resistance tested at 5.4?, consistent with a nominal 8 ohm driver rating of the past (the 6 ohm rating was not commonly used when it was made). This is a nice find for someone with a blown or damaged tweeter in their M100 or many other early EPI models—your speakers will be sounding their best once again! As pictured and described, this vintage EPI inverted dome air spring tweeter is offered at a competitive price. Offered for your consideration is one (1) vintage EPI 8 inch woofer that was removed from my EPI Model 100 (M100) speakers, USA-manufactured c.1974. EPI built this double-stacked magnet woofer in-house. It was also used in the early Model 110, 150, 201, 202, 400, 601, 1000 and others, including early Epicure models. So, please take a look at the large photos I’ve taken, and read the remaining description, to decide if this stalwart EPI mid/bass woofer is correct for your needs. This EPI woofer is clean, excellent condition. It has a structurally perfect sturdy paper cone and flawless voice coil dustcap. Plus, the permanent rubber surround is in great shape with no imperfections noted. Also, the anodized steel basket has no dents and minimal oxidation, if any, just some very sloppy use of factory green epoxy, as pictured. And, the +/- terminals measure the industry-standard .205”, are marked for polarity (green line side = positive), and have never been soldered on the spades. Overall, this vintage EPI woofer is quite nicely preserved. Most importantly, this EPI woofer has been fully tested and sounds terrific—very strong with fast, detailed midrange and solid bass response for the platform size. Plus, I tested its DC resistance at 4.3?, consistent with a nominal 8 ohm driver rating of the past (the 6 ohm rating had not come into widespread use yet). Lastly, the basket measures 8¼” in diameter, it stands just over 3¾” tall (including the surround roll), and the four-corner mounting hole pattern is 5½” adjacent / 7?” diagonal, c-t-c. This is a great find if you have an early EPI or Epicure speaker with a blown or damaged woofer—your cherished speakers will be sounding their finest again in no time! As pictured and described, this EPI 8” woofer with rubber surround is offered at a competitive price.
