Up for sale is an Oppo BDP-103 with the Region Free (for DVD) / Region Selection (Bluray) dongle that installs on the serial port. Included in the sale is the original BDP-103 player, the serial dongle, a power cord, and the original Oppo remote. There is no manual and no box included in this sale as I no longer have them. I have owned this player for 10 years and it has served me well. Once I built an unRAID server to store full quality rips of my UHD/BD/DVD collection, I stopped using this player on any regular basis. It has seen only very light use in the last 2 years. The dongle, which needs to be plugged into the serial port of the player and also plugged into a rear USB port for power, offers completely region free DVD playback and you are able to perform region selection for Bluray playback. To swap Bluray regions: a. Power on the player without any disc inserted. After a while, the screen with show NO DISC.b. About 2 seconds after the NO DISC is displayed, press DIMMER, DIMMER, DIMMER, MUTE and then the region code. 1 for A, 2 for B, 3 for C.c. Power off your player. When started up again, the region code has changed.d. The region code selection must be done within 20 seconds. The player is sold USED and As Is. It was tested working before auction and I verified the dongle also still functions to playback one of my European Blurays. I cannot accept returns of any kind, sorry.
