Very nice serviced Pioneer PL-516 semi-automatic turntable. Made in Japan in the late 70s. In my opinion, one of the great things about this turntable is its simplicity. The only thing not working on this turntable is the clip that holds the tone arm to the tonearm holder. It is broken so when transporting you will need to tie the arm down with a twisty tie. Looks and sounds fantastic with light to a few moderate scratches on the dust cover. The wear near the speed controls, which is fairly common on these older silver turntables, is interesting in that it appears someone has covered up some of the dark wear with light silver paint. Please zoom in on pictures to see condition. Very solid unit at about 16 lb It is a two-speed belt driven unit. The 4 feet on the bottom are in good condition. Original Pioneer head shell Ortofon FF 15 Cartridge It has a new belt A new stylus Clean and lubricated the automatic mechanism(it was not very dirty) Cleaned and lubricated the spindle bearing Lubricated the speed potentiometers Very lightly lubricated the motor Great sounding turntable that holds speed perfectly. This is a vintage turntable that requires a receiver/ amplifier with a phono input. Or you can purchase a separate preamp to connect to a home theater type receiver.
